| Vertical Overview

The manufactured products vertical is comprised of manufacturers and distributors of building products used in the construction of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as infrastructure projects. Manufactured products include cabinetry, flooring, windows and doors, roofing tiles and trusses, paint, insulation, and other products used in the construction of a home or building. Our definition of manufactured products does not include decorative products such as furniture, curtains, and other related accessories. Demand for manufactured products is driven by new construction and remodeling activity in both the residential and commercial segments.

| M&A Trends

The manufactured products vertical sees strong buyer interest from both private equity and strategic buyers. Private equity buyers are particularly interested in specialty manufacturers and value-added distribution models that typically offer higher margin profiles and repeat customers. In recent years, many firms have created specific investment mandates within manufactured products in anticipation of the vertical’s strong recovery. Buyer interest is also typically influenced by the residential and commercial end-market exposure a company has and which of those two end markets is currently exhibiting the strongest growth in the economic cycle.
